What is the difference between Creative
Production and Market Research Production?
Creative Production involves the total process of putting your
message into a visual mass communication media. This process can
include script writing, pre-production planning, field or studio
production, graphic elements, music and post-production editing.
The means of distributing this message can then be via video tape,
CD-ROM, DVD, videoconferencing or webcasting.
Market Research Production is a specialized service for organizations
that perform market research activities.

What geographic area do you cover?
Our primary market for creative production services is the Southeastern
Michigan area, however we have shot in every major market in the
U.S. and in 20 foreign countries. For international projects we
are experienced in handling all transportation logistics, including

for full uncompressed non-linear video editing. We also have a small

Candid Modules are a typical application for our field editing equipment.
Our graphics suite runs Lightwave 6.5 and all the usual Adobe programs.

Do you create DVDs?
Yes,
we have two systems for creating DVDs. For projects that require
complex authoring we use a Sonic Fusion DVD authoring system. For
simple program transfer we use a Panasonic MR-2020 recorders. We
provide a DLT tape of the project for mass duplication of your DVD.

What cameras do you use?
We
use Sony D-35 series cameras. These could be either a D-35 with
a PVV3 BetaSP back on it or a DSR-1 DVCAM back on it. We also use
Sony DSR-500 camcorders for certain applications. These camera have
identical electronics with the D-35 so they match up very well in
multi-cam environments.

Is your studio a sound stage?
While the stage is well insulated for sound, it does have exterior
walls. Therefore, we generally recommend lavalier mics rather than
booms.

What is the difference between videoconferencing
and webcasting?
Videoconferencing: This technology utilizes PictureTel or other
brands of videoconferencing equipment to provide two-way communication
of both audio and video signals over ISDN (Integrated System Digital
Network) phone lines. The program is viewed on standard television
monitors at PictureTel rooms located at fixed locations. The audio
and video signals are most commonly sent to a single PictureTel
room but may also be sent to multiple sites. Videoconferencing always
has the capability to be two-way.
Webcasting: Webcasting utilizes a computer located at the send end
with the proper encoding hardware and software to allow the video
signals to be digitized and sent over the Internet. The signal is
then viewed on individual computers by addressing a web site and
logging in with the proper password. Webcasting is basically one
way, however phone lines and chat rooms can be set up to allow communication
between the viewers and back to the send location.
